In shops you can purchase vitual items using virtual money called "doubloons". These virtual items can be given to any of your characters and can be used within the game to enhance gameplay. The use of most items is in character, meaning you have to actually roleplay it out.

To sell or trade with other players, simply post on the Chat board under OOC.

Alternatively, if other players don't want your items, you can post them on the Updates board to ask for offers from the Ragman and the Collector. These two shady characters will offer you doubloons or other items in exchange for your unwanted things. The Collector only takes rare and valuable items, but generally offers a good price for them; the Ragman, on the other hand, only offers low prices but will take anything you have to offer.

You can either post asking for the Ragman/Collector to make offers, or you can request a certain amount or a certain item you want in exchange. The Ragman and the Collector are both open for haggling.

how to earn doubloons
Running low on cash? Here are some ways you can earn some more:

Defeat a monster in Marcabre Marsh.
Go exploring and try to bring home some booty.
Sell your old items on the Chat or Updates boards. Check the rare items section to see the value of objects. Rare objects will go up in value over time, so the longer you hang on to them, the more they'll be worth!
Take part in competitions which occasionally appear on the News or Chat boards. Sometimes doubloons are given out in the chat box.
Ask for a loan of another fairy, or if you want doubloons for a specific project, try and find investors. Some fairies might invest in your project for a share of the rewards.
Blackmail or bribery. Remember to plot this out OOC though!
