He's always been very private with his personal affairs and there's few gossip about him, which may have gone towards his previously good reputation. Before the 'Shaman incident', Gwythr was frequently referred to as 'Gwythr the Wise' or 'Gwythr the Second', and his advice was often sought on important matters. After Aura was disgraced and removed from her position as Chairman of the Council of Originals in 990 AD, he was unanimously elected to step into her place. As Chairman, Gwythr became lazy and fairly inefficient. In the 1950's, he moved to Shaman, impersonated Mallos and imposed a dictatorial regime which only ended with his freezing by the Council of Originals many years later. He is currently facing trial for his crimes. Gwythr is the deity if Italy and has a reasonable-sized cult which has depleted in numbers since he stopped being Chairman. He generally adopts the appearance of an older man with pallid skin, pale blue eyes, grey hair and a solemn face. The main reason lots of people are scared of or hate Gwythr is because of his controversial beliefs. He believes that the originals are a superior race of people who need to be protected, that ordinary fairies are a secondary race and that humans should be made extinct. On Shaman, he attempted to create a master race of new deities by forcing Aura to have his children. Ew. He's also completely obsessed with pure blood and is intensely afraid of the originals' extinction. Prior to the Shaman incident, Gwythr was widely respected among the originals. To a few of them, he is still the preferred first choice for Chairman. Since the Shaman incident, he has a deep hatred for Mallos and Aura, and has become very isolated from the other originals - even his old long-time supporter, Allianah. Currently, Gwythr is living in Egypt under guard while his case is going through court. He is the only original fairy with no divinity. « back
