aura

Range of cult worship.

Aura was a complicated person, even before you factor in the way her personality was ripped apart - twice. She was the oldest original fairy and the first fairy in existence, the first to be deified, the founder of the Council of Originals, the creator of Shaman and easily the most widely worshipped fairy goddess. Her cult extends across the world; just under three-quarters of ordinary fairies follow her cult (which is large enough to be considered a religion) and most of the polytheistic religions name her as the creator goddess. She was a particularly gifted magician and was usually the one who inventing or discovering new powers; her knowledge and understanding of magic was unmatched.

Fate determined Aura's life before she had a chance to lead it, and character-wise she was just the wrong person for the job. The burden of perfection left her insecure and caused a number of psychological problems, notably anxiety, but throughout the millennia she always stuck by her cause: protecting ordinary fairies from the deities. Aura had a strong, somewhat rigid sense of justice and always sacrificed whatever was necessary - including her own happiness - for the greater good.

In her last form, Aura was small and slight, with white skin, white-blonde hair, a heart-shaped face and intense blue eyes. She was the patron deity of England. In 990 AD, she was framed for a crime and punished by being removed as Chairman of the council, and in later years was exiled from the council altogether. She wasn't pardoned until after her death in 2012.

Aura was isolated from the other originals from a young age and was never able to form solid, trusting relationships with most of them. She had a close relationship with Thoth, Mallos and Caspian, but relations with the other originals were often tense. She did get on reasonably well with Khasekhemwy and Kahl, and Allianah up until 990.
