« back mallos Range of cult worship. Mallos is a difficult guy to pin down. On the surface he's a shallow, chauvinistic, selfish and promiscuous womaniser. Intelligent, charismatic and exceptionally perceptive, he excels at working out people's breaking point and often pushes them to it for his own amusement. This along with his brilliant acting and social skills, together with an ingenious ability to accurately predict future consequences, has hailed him the best diplomat in the council and landed him the role of International Ambassador. At his worst, Mallos is harmlessly irritating; at his best, he's playful, fun-loving and loyal. Unfortunately, getting past the harmlessly irritating stage is often difficult to the point of impossible. He's particularly devoted to children and has always wanted some of his own. The patriotic deity of Spain, Mallos closely resembles the people he represents: olive skin, black hair and black eyes. He's famous for nearly always wearing black clothes and is particularly handsome, even for a deity. His cult is the second-largest next to Aura's, focused in Spain but spanning across most of the Spanish-speaking world, which is somewhat inexplicable considering his godly attitude is usually described as 'irresponsible'. Mallos is difficult to negotiate with and, in spite of his loyalty to the council, he's not particularly concerned with rules or with his godly duties. Because his rebelliousness is fairly small-scale and harmless, and because he's so popular amongst ordinary fairies, Mallos usually gets away with anything - much to the annoyance of Allianah, who calls for him to be sanctioned at every possible opportunity. Mallos delights in winding up the other originals and usually focuses his efforts on Allianah and Rhaegar. He has a very close friendship with Aura, Caspian and Thoth and absolutely detests Gwythr. Mallos has a familiar: a female black Siamese-cross cat named Sperantia. She represents his more practical and logical side, and is one of the few people capable of poking fun at him and getting away with it. « back
