Character roles are listed on the Shaman board, under Play. Characters can hold multiple roles simultaneously. Check the #character-roles channel on Discord to find out more about how you can obtain different roles.

There are three stages to receiving baby stats.

Conception stage: this is when the player posts for stats. When posting for stats at the conception stage, include the following:

• You must include:
• Parents' names
• You may also want to include:
• Any items you'll be using to affect the generators at this stage. Items which can only be used at the conception stage are: Powerless/Power/Traitless/Trait Guarantee, Appearance Picker, XX/XY Chromosome, Mild/Moderate/Severe Difference Blocker, Single Baby, Unnatural Pregnancy, Orphan Child, Litter, Illuminati Abduction, Baby Coupon.
• Whether you'd like any optional extras! These are: detailed appearance, wing appearance, personality, intelligences/skills, pregnancy/childbirth details.

Check stage: this is when the support team member posts the initial set of stats on the support board. It is up to players to then check the stats and reply with the following.

• You must include:
• Babies' names
• Player(s) of offspring
• Confirmation that you are happy to proceed to the finalised stage, if you are ready to do so.
• You may also want to include:
• You can use Add Baby to add another child to the pregnancy at this stage. If you are using Add Baby, you can apply other baby generator edit items like Appearance Pickers to the new baby, but not to the one you already have stats for.
• You can use Born With Familiar to apply a randomised familiar at this stage.
• You can use Designer Baby to give yourself an alternative option.
• Optional extras (as above) can be applied at the check stage.
• Any other edits you would want to make using character additions/edits items (e.g. Database Glitch, Anti-Wing Potion), applying points/items/pets/powers/traits from bank or purchasing items/pets/powers/traits can be done at this stage.

The pregnancy remains in the check stage until the player posts confirmation that they are happy to move to the finalised stage. and are free to kill, breed etc the character.

Finalised stage: when the player has confirmed that they are happy with the stats in the check stage, the new baby will be added to the database by a member of the support team. No additional baby generator edits can be applied at this stage. The usual edits using normal items can be applied the usual way by posting on the support board.

If you make a character "Playerless", this is an extreme option whereby you give up all rights to the character and cannot impose conditions. When adopting a "Playerless" character, you have total freedom to edit any information which is not in the database (and information which is using appropriate items), and are free to kill, breed etc the character.

If you make a character "Adoptable", you can set your own terms and conditions for adopting the character. When adopting an "Adoptable" character, you must follow the terms and conditions set by the original owner.

If you need to submit any updates (e.g. member updates or claiming freebies) post them here. Update posts are occasionally skipped for a variety of reasons (database hosting site is down, forgotten passwords etc), none of which are personal. If this happens to you and your post has been pushed down the board, please re-post it or prod a member of the support team!

When freebies, rewards and prizes are posted, these are not updated automatically unless otherwise stated. It is up to players to claim these on the support board. The time limit for claiming freebies, rewards and prizes is one month from the date it was posted, unless otherwise stated for specific events. Players will not be able to claim the freebie, reward or prize outside of that deadline.

Players may request up to two for-prize prompt threads per real life month. To request a for-prize prompt thread, make a post on this board with details about the kind of prize and prompt/scenario/catalyst you are looking for and indicate that this is a for-prize prompt, ideally in the subject line of your post. You could, for example, request:

• A specific kind of catalyst or scenario, such as a fight, quest or job.
• A specific kind of prize, such as doubloons, points, powers or items.
• Something tailored to a specific character.

Please note that there is no guarantee that you will be given what you're asked for; you are simply expressing preference.

A member of the support team will then reply to your post with a prompt for you to complete. When you have completed it, you can request an additional prompt (up to 5 prompts may be given per thread) or choose to end the thread and ask for your prize. You can put your IC posts on any board you like.

Players can also request writing prompts with no prize attached at any time. You can request as many of these as you like.

Welcome to Shaman! In this thread, Kinship players can join characters on Shaman. You can bring existing Kinship characters over to Shaman. They will become Level 1 fairies upon arrival.

(A) They may be joined with the following for free:

Domesticated Pet: any ordinary domestic animal found on Earth, e.g. horse, cat, dog, etc (unlimited number, natural colours only)

Any genes or carrier genes listed here which specify “can be applied to newly joined characters for free”.

(B) They may be joined with up to three of the following for free in any combination, so you can have 3 coppers, or 2 coppers and a familiar, etc:

Start at Level II

Point Bundle: assigns a random number of points to your character

Ordinary Familiar: your Shade, Spirit or Hesper in the form of any animal which exists currently on Earth, in a natural, real-life colour

Recolour Familiar: select unique colouration for your familiar

Tame Prey: any ordinary, non-domestic prey animal found on Earth, e.g. deer, zebra (natural colours only)

Tame Predator: any ordinary, non-domestic predator animal found on Earth, e.g. shark, lion (natural colours only)

+Pet Appearance Alteration: change the fur/coat colour of your pet to unnatural colours, add unnatural markings, change the substance your pet is made from (e.g. skeleton, water) or add any non-magical trait (e.g. antlers, wings). One alteration only.

Copper: assigns a random power, familiar or trait to your character

(C) To bring additional features over to Shaman, you will need to add a note next to each feature explaining what it is, how it works, and how important it is to the character to retain. These will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and we will consider what a player has received rather than what a character has received. So for example, if you want to bring a Kin character over with lots of magic, that may be approved if you agree that your other characters will not have any magic to start with.

If additional features are not approved, you may be offered a quest or other method of earning them in-game.

Physical diversity: if your character has any physical differences or disabilities, e.g. an extra toe, missing an arm, deaf, blind etc, put them here.
Neurodiversity: if your character has any neurodivergence, e.g. autism, ADHD, dyslexia, put that here.

(A) Any free domestic pets: if you are joining with any free domestic pets, then put them here.
